Clay Jones, president and CEO of Rockwell Collins, recipient of Purchasing’s Medal of Professional Excellence for 2005, presented the company’s President Award for 2007 to AMI Semiconductor Inc. of Pocatello, Idaho. AMI Semiconductor was honored at Rockwell Collins’ annual supplier conference held recently at the company’s headquarters in Cedar Rapids, Iowa.
“AMI Semiconductor has demonstrated outstanding performance as a supplier to Rockwell Collins,” says Roger Weiss, vice president of material and supply, and a member of Purchasing’s editorial advisory board. “They embody our philosophy of supply chain management by getting the right part to the right place at the right time.”
AMI Semiconductor also received the ASIC/MMI/FGPA commodity supplier of the year award for being a consistently high performer in quality, delivery and support service.
Recipient of the company’s Lean initiative award is FTG Aerospace of Toronto. To read more about how Weiss and his team develop a Lean supply base, be sure not to miss Purchasing’s June 14 issue.
