Ocean carriers predict record demand in Pacific
China's demand for logistics remains story

The members of the Transpacific Stabilization Agreement are predicting record container volumes in the Pacific Ocean this year.
According to a recent Reuters article, the TSA forecasts a lull in early May due to national holidays in China and Japan to be followed by a record peak season, requiring additional vessel capacity. TSA forecasts 9-10% Asia-U.S. cargo growth for 2007 and slightly higher growth in 2008 as trade between U.S. and Asia continues to explode.
Ocean freight rates are at all-time highs and logistics market watchers continue to report demand for ocean freight remains strong.
