Alcoa Eyes Greenland

Aluminum giant Alcoa and the government of Greenland are studying the feasibility of a 340,000 metric ton/year aluminum smelter in Greenland. The goal is to start building a hydroelectric power system in 2010 and a smelter in 2012—with ingot available for sale by the end of 2014.
