IBM Launches Power6 Chip

IBM's new Power6 microprocessor is on sale this month, a chip operating at 4.7 gigahertz and cycling at a speed 25 million times as fast as the flap of hummingbird wings. This is designed to consolidate servers and handle substantially larger workloads. The new IBM chip also has massive bandwidth of 300 gigabytes per second.
