After plummeting for much of 2007, chip prices are expected to rally in the third and fourth quarter. Yeongho Kang, vice president of Samsung's chip division expects prices of NAND flash memory chips to grow in the third quarter. Taiwanese firm Nanya raised prices in July for its chips 15–20%, expecting increasing third-quarter demand.
