Apple's new iPhone has a hardware bill of materials totaling $265.83 according to a recent analysis from electronics industry researcher iSuppli. That means Apple has a margin in excess of 55% on each 8Gbyte iPhone model sold at the $599 retail price. Samsung supplies the iPhone's applications processor, NAND flash and DRAM for the phone which amount to $76.25 of semiconductor content, the most of any supplier to the phone, the researcher says.
