WHAT IT MEANS: That may not seem like a lot, but it's the highest percentage for all of 2007, indicating that more buyers are concerned with chemical supply security. Thirty-two percent of buyers expect chemicals sourcing to increase in the next quarter.

WHAT IT MEANS: It was a significant jump from July, when only 29% of buyers polled reported price hikes for extruded plastics, and topping the May survey, which say 41% of buyers reporting higher prices.

WHAT IT MEANS: Plastic resin is the commodity buyers most expect to increase in price in the next quarter. For many months, energy has topped that list.
