Novelis will supply aluminum sheet for the hood of the 2008 Cadillac CTS luxury sport sedan, expected to launch in late August. The General Motors vehicle has been redesigned for 2008 with high-grade components and extremely tight exterior gap tolerances. Jim Taylor, Cadillac-brand general manager, says the use of aluminum helps reduce vehicle mass and improve vehicle performance and handling. Atlanta-based Novelis already supplies aluminum sheet for the hoods of Cadillac's STS, DTS and SRX models. Novelis will supply aluminum sheet for the CTS hoods from its manufacturing plants in Oswego, N.Y. and Kingston, Ont.
