Ryder overhauls supply chain unit

3PL to combine U.S. and international businesses

By Dave Hannon -- Purchasing, 12/3/2007 1:53:00 PM

Ryder System has announced that it will reorganize its supply chain business and the division’s president has chosen to leave the company.

Late last week, Miami-based Ryder said it will combine its U.S. and international supply chain solutions businesses. The company also announced that Vick O’Meara, president of Ryder's U.S. supply chain solutions business, has decided to leave the company as a result of the reorganization.

Ryder CEO Greg Swienton will assume direct responsibility for all SCS operations until a leader of the new global SCS organization is named. Tom Jones, senior vice president and general manager of Ryder’s U.S. Supply Chain Solutions unit will replace O'Meara on an interim basis.
