Arrow inks deal with Osram Sylvania

Arrow Electronics has signed a distribution agreement with Osram Sylvania and will sell the manufacturer's line of light emitting diode products.

The agreement is intended to help drive the adoption of LED lighting technology by manufacturers across several industries.

LEDS are becoming the light source of choice for various applications because of ruggedness, reliability, long life, energy efficiency and low maintenance requirements. They are being used more in signage, architectural and decorative lighting systems.

Osram Sylvania, headquartered in Danvers, Mass., offers an LED system solution for various types of applications, including cove, display, signage, and downlighting.

Arrow also signed an agreement with disk drive maker Seagate Technology. Arrow, based in Melville, N.Y., will distribute Seagate Technology's product portfolio to Arrow's broad customer base in the U.S. and Canada.

Arrow will carry Seagate's entire product portfolio including its industry-leading EE25 hard-drive series for extreme environments, the DB35 series for digital video recorders (DVRs) and home media servers, the SV35 family for digital video surveillance systems, Savvio 2.5-inch drives.

Mouser signs deals

Mouser Electronics says it is now stocking products from Evox Rifa, a Kemet company. Evox Rifa specializes in plastic film, paper, and electrolytic capacitors primarily used in the industrial, automotive, consumer electronics, and lighting industries.

Mouser will inventory a variety of products including EMI suppressor metalized polypropylene capacitors, general purpose AC/DC metalized paper capacitors, metalized polyester capacitors, and metalized polyphenylene sulfide capacitors.

Evox Rifa's PHE840M EMI suppression capacitors are made with self-healing metalized polypropylene. The capacitors are used as electromagnetic interference suppressors in all 275VAC Class X2 and across-the-line applications. The PME295 series of Y1 EMI suppressor film capacitors are made with self-extinguishing impregnated paper for self-healing properties that ensure long life even when subjected to frequent over voltages.

Mouser also signed a global distribution agreement with Bivar, a manufacturer of optoelectronic devices, assembly hardware, and solid state lighting.

Mouser stocks a wide variety of Bivar's products including industrial lighting, discrete LEDs, light pipes, mounts and holders, PCB packaging and assembly products, and more.

Mouser is based in Fort Worth, Texas.
