Matrix packaging, a unit of Sonoco in Hartsville, S.C., will open a new rigid plastic container plant in St. Louis in the first quarter of 2008 to meet growing demand for packaging. The new plant will produce extruded blow-molded bottles for firms that make household chemical and personal care products.
