Metals buyers lag behind other specialists

Compensation for purchasing professionals who source metals increased on average 6.5% to $85,830, according to Purchasing's 27th annual salary survey. Interestingly, metals buyers get paid less on average than their peers who source such services as travel, human resources, marketing and legal ($104,100); information technology goods and services ($101,104), logistics services ($97,802) and chemicals ($88,053).
