Zinc prices on the London Metal Exchange will average $2,535/ton this year, says Macquarie Group in a recent report. "Markets appear to be taking their pricing cues from a combination of the expectation that new zinc supply will enter the market in 2008 returning it to surplus and the growing uncertainty surrounding the U.S. economy,'' the report said. "Demand remains healthy, especially from China."
