Chartered Semiconductor to acquire Hitachi fabChartered Semiconductor Manufacturing says it will buy Hitachi Semiconductor Singapore for about $244 million in cash.
The semiconductor foundry says it has entered into an agreement with Hitachi for the Singapore operation which includes an eight-inch wafer fab. With the acquisition Chartered will further boost its chip-making capacity.
The acquisition is scheduled to close at the end of the first quarter.
Arrow to acquire ACI ElectronicsElectronics distributor Arrow Electronics says it will acquire ACI Electronics—one of the largest distributors of electronic components used in defense and aerospace applications.
ACI is headquartered in Denver and distributes products in the U.S., Israel, Spain and Italy. With approximately 60 employees, ACI provides value-added distribution services to more than 2,000 customers in the military and commercial aircraft systems, and other military applications.
Mouser signs 3M dealMouser Electronics has announced it has signed a distribution agreement with 3M Touch Systems and will carry 3M touch sensors and other products.
Mouser's inventory includes popular screen sizes of MicroTouch, ClearTek II and ToughTouch II surface capacitive touch sensors, as well as the broad array of EX II capacitive touch electronics and SC Series resistive touch electronics.?
