SRAM Prices Slide
By Staff -- Purchasing, 3/13/2008
Look for SRAM prices to keep falling. Prices are dropping because SRAM demand keeps fading as cell phone manufacturers equip handsets with low-cost DRAM instead of SRAM. As a result, the SRAM market will decline through 2011 and so will prices. For example, the average price of a synchronous SRAM was $14.59 in 2005. That price dropped to about $12 in 2007 and will further drop to $11.20 in 2011, according to electronics industry analysts Semico Research.
