Messy materials master data inhibits purchasing performance

Webcast to outline procurement’s role in Master Material Data Management (MMDM) and defining data governance.

By Staff -- Purchasing, 3/27/2008 10:37:00 AM

Symptoms of poor materials master data quality in manufacturing companies include: lack of visibility into materials inventory across the enterprise, high inventory carrying costs, inability to optimize materials inventory levels, poor working capital performance, stockouts, plant downtime, and sub optimal worker and equipment productivity.

On April 3, 2008 at 11 am US-EDT, Purchasing will feature a one-hour educational WEBCAST that will explore the business benefits of Master Material Data Management (MMDM) and procurement’s key role in defining data governance and ongoing stewardship of materials master data quality.

Purchasing’s Anne Millen Porter will host the event. She will be joined by industry experts Mickey North Rizza, research director with AMR Research, and Arthur Raguette, vice president, business development for Zynapse, a global provider of MMDM Solutions.

For the convenience of Purchasing’s non-U.S. audience, the presentation will be offered again with LIVE speaker Q&A on April 8, 2008 at 12 pm GMT.
