WHAT IT MEANS: With energy prices high, resins buyers are apparently taking a break from any increased sourcing. The buying plans index reading of 39.4 for resins is the lowest reading in recent record.

WHAT IT MEANS: That's a significant drop from 50% a month ago, indicating that chemicals prices may be coming down as demand slackens on continued economic concerns in the U.S.

WHAT IT MEANS: FRA officials suggested the dramatic increase in ethanol shipments accounted for the overall increase in spills. Total number of incidents jumped from 28 to 43 while total number of train accidents overall declined 14% last year.
