Sterling Mining Co. has resumed silver production at the legendary Sunshine Mine in Kellogg, Idaho. The Sunshine Mine shut when silver prices averaged $4.40/oz, well below the cost of production, but has reopened now that silver is selling for more than $20/oz. The Sunshine Mine is expected to produce 2.8 million oz of silver in 2008, along with lead and copper byproducts. Sterling Mining anticipates a steady increase in production over the next three years.
