NAND growth to slow
-- Purchasing, 5/8/2008
The slowdown in the economy will impact NAND flash memory sales. NAND is used heavily in consumer-electronics applications—including MP3 players, USB flash drives and digital still cameras. Spending growth on these items is expected to slow in 2008 compared to 2007. That means the global flash market will grow only 9% to $15.2 billion, according to researcher iSuppli. iSuppli had originally forecast the market would grow 27% to $17.9 billion.
