World copper prices will stay above $3/lb for the third consecutive year in 2008, says Roberto Souper, head of the sales at Chile’s state-owned copper miner Corporacion Nacional del Cobre (Codelco), the world’s largest copper producer. “Copper has very good fundamentals and I think that support is at around $3,” he says, pointing to high demand from China.
