Grainger unit expands Canadian operations

Excel Industrial bought by Acklands-Grainger

Acklands-Grainger, Canadian subsidiary of wholesaler-distributor W.W. Grainger, has purchased MRO supplies distributor Excel Industriel of Granby, Quebec. Over the next 12 months, the company expects an $11 million incremental sales contribution as a result of the purchase, according to the Modern Distribution management newsletter. The report says the two existing Acklands-Grainger and Excel branches in Granby will be merged.
