ArcelorMittal acquires Astralloy

U.S. company makes specialty steels

Luxembourg-based ArcelorMittal, the world largest integrated steelmaker, now offers wear-resistant steels through its purchase of Astralloy Steel Products. The 40-year-old specialty steel production and processing firm, formerly operated as a subsidiary of IMS-International Metal Service, supplies the market from warehouses in North America in Salt Lake City, Birmingham, Ala., and Masury, Ohio. Its 2007 revenues were $34 million.
