Newark introduces eQuotes

New online tool is designed to simplify quoting and ordering

By Jim Carbone -- Purchasing, 9/4/2008 12:09:00 PM

Newark has launched a new online tool designed to seamlessly turn quotes for electronic components and equipment into processed orders. eQuotes brings a new level of simplicity and convenience to the purchasing process for engineers and buyers, according to the distributor.

When requesting a quote from a Newark representative, a buyer can now ask for an eQuote. The buyer then receives an email with a link to a detailed quote, complete with part numbers, manufacturer names, descriptions, quantity quoted, expiration date, line item status, prices and extended prices. To add products directly to a shopping cart, the purchaser need only check a box next to the line item, and then continue through check out.

“We recognize that buyers and engineers are extremely time-pressed, and eQuotes enables them to quickly and seamlessly place their orders online at their convenience, without picking up a phone or using the fax,” says Barry Litwin, senior vice president marketing and eCommerce for Newark, based in Chicago.
