Porter named managing editor at Purchasing
Staff -- Purchasing, 5/3/2001
Anne Millen Porter, a member of the Purchasing Magazine editorial staff for 12 years, was named managing editor last month.
In her new role, Anne will edit all copy and supervise the production of Purchasing, which moved last year from a 19-times-a-year frequency to 24. She will also assist Chief Editor Doug Smock in planning and developing editorial strategy. Porter joined Purchasing as News and Economics Editor in 1989, after a short tour of duty in the Cahners Economics Department. Last year, she shepherded Purchasing's major effort in Internet-related editorial. Other major accomplishments include developing the Grassroots Business Survey and co-authoring JIT II: Revolution in Buying and Selling.
She will continue to supervise Purchasing's quarterly e-procurement reports and coordinate the magazine's data and economics projects.
