Applied Industrial Technologies has launched an enhanced version of its Internet-based purchasing system, AppliedACCESS.
AppliedACCESS now features an advanced parts identification system known as Find It!, which allows users to quickly locate specific parts they need—even without part numbers.
The new system uses drill-down technology to sort through thousands of available components to a specific part, starting with a keyword, product category, or manufacturer name. Once a search is entered, the Find It! system lets customers click through a series of successive screens, tightening the search through product choices to find the item that meets the specific need. In the case of similar items, Find It! compares results side by side, highlighting the differences. Find It! also provides users with product details, technical drawings and attributes.
Other AppliedACCESS capabilities include:
- Shared shopping carts, which allow engineers, technicians and maintenance staff to create and save requisitions that are shared with purchasing personnel for ordering in a single, paperless cycle.
- Stored shopping carts, in which orders can be saved for future reference in files named by the customer.
- Searchable order history, storing AppliedACCESS orders for two years and allowing searches for essential information such as price, part numbers and PO numbers.
- Top 10 lists of customers' most frequently ordered parts, making reordering even faster.
