RIP: Joseph Juran
RIP: Joseph Juran
March 3, 2008
The science of quality lost one of its pioneers recently with the passing of Joseph Juran. The author of the "Quality Control Handbook", Juran was credited with developing Six Sigma, lean, and even the Pareto Analysis, or the 80/20 rule, used throughout business.
His work has helped organizations become more productive and efficient. He had a direct impact on purchasing and supply management by integrating quality into operations. Juran, one of the renowned quality gurus in the company of W. Edwards Deming and Philip Crosby, was 103.
