Dear Customer Service Manager:
June 10, 2008
I've had several interesting customer service experiences in the past week or so, and while I do not want to name names, I do need to vent a bit.
* To the India based CSR of my credit card company, Elvis is not a reasonable alias. Fine taking an American sounding name but Elvis is suspect. Perhaps Homer or Kramer have been taken?
* To the high tech UK vacuum cleaner company, waiting 10 'business' days for the warranty replacement of a small belt is unacceptable. And, your offer of a second belt in response to my request for expedited shipping is not an acceptable trade-off, just an indication that the belt will fail again.
* To the sports radio station trying to sell me advertising, equating my college and students with minor league baseball players is downright insulting. While I do not work for Harvard or MIT, I think my school, and students, are pretty special. At least when I called you out on the sales approach you took it well. I must be getting soft.
