Job Market Improves for MBAs
July 11, 2007

As the U.S. economy continues to expand opportunities for MBAs have kept pace.

Many great opportunities are opening up for the recent grad.

The MBA Career Services Council reported positive data for upcoming school years. Seventy two percent of the schools predicted that the MBA job market would improve and 70 percent anticipated that average base salaries for entry-level MBAs would increase. None of the schools anticipated a decrease in recruiting.

There is a wide range of programs developed for MBAs entering companies. These programs can vary depending on company structure and industry. The improving job landscape has generated more positive answers to the ongoing question of whether an MBA is a good investment.

If you are in doubt about pursuing an MBA degree, check the want ads. A position of purchasing manager, director or CPO in most cases is calling for an MBA. It will cost you time and money; however the step up in your education can open doors to a higher position and higher pay.

Based on research conducted by Smart/Revenue Research, the list of companies below was completed by contacting the leading business schools nationwide to identify the top employers of MBAs.

3M St. Paul, MN

Listings are showing the home offices of the companies. I have friends in Dallas that work for 3M, General Electric, IBM and Raytheon. Most of the companies listed have offices in many states.

More and more students are going on to college. Companies have a wealth of applicants for a job. It is getting more important every day to take that step and get your MBA.

It could make the difference in getting the job.
