One Definition Is Not Enough

In the past, I was a fanatic on keeping house.I did not work for a few years when my daughter was small.Well really, I might as well have been working.I had a time schedule worse than on the job training.I had a day for everything and a time per day to do it.
As times passes, you tend to do more what you want to do. Of course you have that regular job which pays the bills, however your time away from work changes. I read more, ride bicycles, attend ISM meetings and do all the things I used to think I did not have time for.
In one of my energetic moods, I started working on my bookcases at home.You have to realize that I love books.My father would never allow us to turn a corner down on a page or write in a book.Even in college classes I have taken, I find it hard to get the highlighter out and mark up the book.Some students claim it is a better deal to buy a used book because all the good stuff is already highlighted.
I found five dictionaries, not counting the pocket size plus various other sizes.These are a thing of the past.Kids, I mean little kids, go to the computer to look a word up.
At work, I have the good old Merriam-Webster dictionary, Glossary of Cost Accounting Terminology, Glossary of Key Purchasing Terms by NAPM (now ISM), APICS Dictionary, Tenth and Eleventh editions, and Glossary of Purchasing, Logistics and Supply Chain Management Terms by the American Certification Institute and American Purchasing Society.
The term “purchasing” is different in each one.Look them up on the internet.
Also there is a dictionary by Professor D. A. Jessop “Official Dictionary of Purchasing and Supply”.The most up-to-date and relevant text for the modern business practitioner includes correct procedures for purchase, supply, selling and general trading and gives extensive coverage of British, European and international sales.
This dictionary is recommended by the Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply for its students and practitioners.CIPS has 42,000 professionally recognized and qualified members.Training and development opportunities are available to applicants regardless of their location.There are currently 20,000 members studying for their qualifications worldwide.
With the internet, we can draw information from many professional organizations.There is no standard definition for purchasing.Each organization puts their twist to it.
