Supply Chain Risk Rears its Head in Mexico
While we enjoyed extraordinary summer like weather in New England this past weekend, Mexico was reeling under a swine flu outbreak and even an earthquake. There is suffering, uncertainty, and even death in Mexico and many of the schools and businesses are closed due to this expanding swine flu outbreak….one that is expanding in the United States and around the globe. Some are calling it a pandemic.
Businesses in Mexico are shutting down to prevent the spread of disease; businesses that may be prime suppliers to you or to your suppliers. Travelers are being told to avoid Mexico. This of course includes business travelers. Supply chains with links in Mexico are being increasingly impacted. It’s times like these when we will get a clear understanding of just how much product has content from Mexico. Hopefully it won’t be a surprise.
WHAT DO YOU THINK?
