Leaders Wanted

It begins with great, transparent and comprehensive decisions. It succeeds with proactive and invested supplier management. It becomes manageable with integrated tools enabled by simple processes. It takes a certain amount of risk, courage and polish. Who will fill the void and become purchasing thought leaders?

Great first post! Very timely topic. Difficult times not only require stong leadership but also provide opportunites for those who want to grow. Rahm Emanuel's quote “You don’t ever want a crisis to go to waste" is a good mantra for those who want to lead.

Lara, Thanks for the great post. I am young in the business, and look forward to establishing a career in supply management/purchasing. I am hoping to become a leader that you speak of, but am having trouble breaking into the industry with my little experience. Any words of advise for an up and comer?
