Johnson Controls sets $1B supplier diversity goal
By the year 2003, Johnson Controls says it will buy $1 billion in goods and services from diverse suppliers, including companies owned by minorities and women. Senior officials at the company outlined the new procurement targets and strategies at a Diversity Business Summit that was held in the Detroit area in late June.
